Under UAE Labor Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021), regarding termination: Employers must provide written notice periods ranging from 30-90 days based on service length. During probation, 14 days notice is required. Termination without notice is permitted for specific violations listed in Article 44. Employees are entitled to end-of-service gratuity calculated at 21 days basic salary per year for the first 5 years and 30 days per year thereafter (capped at 2 years total salary) unless terminated for gross misconduct. Employees can resign with proper notice without ban. Arbitrary dismissal entitles employees to compensation of up to 3 months salary. All final settlements must include unused leave, gratuity, and any agreed-upon benefits.
